John Black, Director of Information Systems

John Black has been with VTLS since September 1992 when he started as a software engineer. Before joining VTLS he served ten years of active duty in the United States Navy where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems from Park College. His duties in the USN included developing and maintaining software applications, managing the data processing center aboard the USS Independence (CV-62). After receiving an Honorable discharge from the USN, Black accepted a position as a software engineer at Virginia Tech.

In October of 2006 Black became the Director of Information Systems.
