Project Management
VTLS Inc. provides personalized and professional Project Management Services for customers through all phases of a project. VTLS Project Managers work to insure successful completion of your project by providing:
- Coordination of all aspects of your project;
- A singular point of contact and focus within VTLS;
- Discipline to both organizations and advocacy on your behalf;
- Scope management for all activities, including change management.
Project Management Services insure that a project moves smoothly through the three phases of a project's life cycle:
- Planning Phase.
- Implementation Phase.
- Sign-Off/Start-Up Phase.
Planning Phase
During the Project Planning phase, VTLS Inc. first assigns a project team to the customer. This team consists of the Project Manager, a Customer Support Librarian and a Customer Support Technical Analyst.
In the initial stages of Project Planning, the VTLS project manager will coordinate consulting services as needed. Following any consulting services that may be provided, the project team will develop a customized project plan for each customer. The Project Management Plan will define the project scope, detailing customer requirements. Project managers obtain functional requirements, data conversion specifications, a training needs assessment, etc. from the customer. During this stage, hardware specifications are verified and preliminary data checking occurs.
After the Project Management Plan is created and the scope of the project defined, VTLS project managers will schedule all deliveries and develop a payment schedule for the customer.
Implementation Phase
The implementation phase may consist of one or more of the following, depending on the customer's individual needs.
- Design - Detailed specifications are developed for custom programming.
- Development - Required customizations are completed, tested, and delivered to the customer.
- Hardware Procurement - Project managers contract with third-party vendors to provide necessary equipment.
- Software/Hardware Delivery - Software is installed on the server with a test database.
- Data Conversion & Load - Customer database is delivered.
- Training - System and application training are provided as needed.
Sign-Off/Start-Up Phase
Following the Planning and Implementation phases, a Certificate of Acceptance is finalized. After a customer accepts and signs the certificate, the site officially goes live. VTLS Project Management transfers the account to Customer Support.
