Visualizer is a powerful discovery engine that allows you to provide searching and faceted navigation of multiple data sources at once.  Visualizer is designed to have your local database at its core.  Additional resources are then added by indexing metadata extracted from external systems. 
 
Visualizer provides a user interface that includes both searching and facet-based browsing.  The user interface is extremely flexible, allowing your library to easily customize the appearance to integrate with your web OPAC or institutional website. In addition to operating as a standalone discovery solution, Visualizer can be "plugged in" to other VTLS web interfaces, acting as a discovery engine for both Chamo, the social OPAC of Virtua ILS, or Vorpal, our innovative Drupal-based OPAC.  This extends the range of Chamo and Vorpal to provide full discovery capabilities across any number of external resources, including all of the resource types supported by Visualizer.

When used with Virtua and VITAL, Visualizer is designed to provide an OPAC-centric solution for discovery by fully integrating the discovery process within your OPAC.  Where other discovery solutions place discovery at the front end, making users navigate to a secondary layer to perform library-specific functions like placing holds or accessing their patron information, Visualizer makes your library and its unique offerings at the forefront, with all library functions directly available for your users.
